Do We All ???

Now i know this very wierd but while i was in the bath, i had a thought and i feel it could be true. I am going to share my thought and i will keep my eye on all comments that come in, to see what others think about it. I would love to know your thoughts on this.
There are a lot of lables being used these days for different groups of people that are around us every day.They are happy with who they are and who they know. And yet they get labled things like GOTH or GEEK and so on. Now i feel and know that this is what we all know as stereotyping and as anyone would, we do not like being stereotyped. But i was thinking. When this happens we all moan and most will say that they do not like people that do stereotype. But am i wrong in thinking that the people who do say that, are indeed stereotyping theirselves ? Forgive me if i am wrong but is that not labling them also ? Yes i get labled a goth just because i like metal music. But there are different genre of metal as well so why are all metal/rock loving people labled goth's ?
Now on this one lable i have looked it up in the dictionary and this is what came up : GOTH :

one of a Teutonic people who in the 3rd to 5th centuries invaded and settled in parts of the Roman Empire.
2.
a person of no refinement; barbarian.
Now forgive me but are we not in the 12st century?
